The Harrods Hive Launches in Riyadh to Elevate the Next Generation of Bright Creatives

Connecting emerging local talent and entrepreneurs with industry leaders and CEOs

It was Dubai that played host to the last edition of Harrods’ talent incubator platform in 2023, but this year, speakers, stakeholders and leading industry expertise are flocking to Saudi Arabia.

The two-day event of curated networking and discussion panels is all about bringing together industry leaders and emerging artists in design, creativity and entrepreneurship in a bid to foster collaboration and fuel future talent, says International Business Development and Communications Director, Sarah Myler. “We will be convening some of the brightest talents from within the Middle East who can provide a unique insight into their worlds, inspiration and what makes them tick as a creative.”

Riyadh’s first edition of The Hive – hosted by the world’s leading luxury department store – is focused on the concept of ‘Unpacking Luxury’. Key speakers including Co-Founder of Saudi Design Week and CEO of Saudi Design Festival, Basma Bouzo, and Fashion Entrepreneur and Consultant, Rae Joseph, will be diving in to discuss the theme of rarity, looking at unique talents, how our perceptions of luxury is impacted by exclusivity, and how brands can support creative brilliance.

Key speaker Basma Bouzo says the dynamic of such events is invaluable for empowering new talent. “When experts from various fields brainstorm collectively, they can conceive ingenious solutions that transcend the limitations of any single paradigm. The whole becomes far greater than the sum of its parts.”

Day one kicks off with an exclusive reception on Wednesday 24 January at Diriyah Gate, part of The Kingdom’s 2023 vision, followed by a second day of esteemed panelist talks on Thursday 25 January. Complete with museums, cultural attractions and recreational spaces, Diriyah Gate will be transformed for the event as a new tourism hub displaying Saudi Arabia’s new era of openness.

What’s more, The Saudi Youth Society is partnering with the Harrods Hive Riyadh to further champion equal opportunities and youth empowerment in Saudi Arabia, supporting the overall mission to inspire emerging talent on a global scale. Bouzo adds, “The Hive’s cross-pollination of perspectives composes a rich intellectual ecosystem where ideas flourish. Within this collaborative crucible, innovation is inevitable.”
