The Turkish drama’s new adaptation, The Game of Love, has gone viral in the Arabic speaking world – and beyond
Remember the beloved Turkish drama Kiralık Aşk (‘حب للايجار) – starring Elçin Sangu and Barış Arduç which ran from 2015 to 2017? Which was later picked up and dubbed in Arabic by MBC? Fans of the series will be delighted to know there’s a now a new adaptation of this classic soap opera – and it’s now a chart-topping show around the world.
From Sweden to Portugal MBC’s recently released an Arabic version The Game of Love – or or Lo’bat Hob (لعبة حب) in Arabic – stars Syrian actors Nour Ali in the lead role of Sama and Moatasem Alnahar as Malek, Sama’s love interest. The cast also includes Syrian actress Shoukran Mortaja, best known known for his iconic role in Bab Al-Hara, and Lebanese actor Joe Trad.
The series follows Sama, a working-class waitress, who finds herself in the challenging situation of needing to pay off her brother’s debts – and agrees to marry Malek, a wealthy shoe designers, in exchange for the funds.
The adaptation premiered on April 14, 2024 and is still running, with its 76th episode having just been released.
The drama has taken off to great heights with its rising popularity in the region and across the globe, with viewership ranging from various continents. On Shahid, the subscription streaming service the show is currently Top 1 in several Arab and International countries worldwide.

Shahid by MBC has it available for streaming on demand on the Shahid website or mobile application. The episodes that have already aired on TV are free on the app. Currently, the first 72 out of the 76 released episodes are available to watch for free.
