Experience Time’s Third Dubai Edit Brings Swiss Watchmaking Expertise to the Fore
The excellence of luxury craftsmanship, from Geneva to Dubai
It’s only the second month of the year, and Dubai’s cityscape is already rife with events of every kind—including something for local watch enthusiasts. The Maisons of A. Lange & Söhne, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Roger Dubuis, and Vacheron Constantin are back in Dubai Mall this year with the third edition of Experience Time. The event takes place from February 6 to 9, across Dubai Mall and educational partner L’ÉCOLE’s Dubai Design District campus; it’s a rare opportunity to be immersed into the artisan experience and the craft behind haute horology.
Experience Time was launched in the UAE in 2022 and has since become a haven for anyone who professes an interest in the realm of luxury watches. An event that showcases different aspects of the art through activations and the eyes of experts, the third iteration this year engages with attendees through live demonstrations, interactive workshops, and expert-led talks.
It extends a very multifaceted invitation, with each Maison showing off their unique perspectives rooted in a common love for the watchmaking craft. A trip to Jaeger-LeCoultre, can either end with a Watchmaking Masterclass or an in depth look at the story of one of their most iconic timepieces. One could choose between A. Lange & Söhne’s Master watchmaker Robert Hoffmann demonstrating the mechanics of the Datograph movement, or a Virtual Manufacture Visit from IWC Schaffhausen, involving a 30-minute digital deep dive into its selection of pieces. Montblanc’s debut of a diagnostic machine for timepiece analysis is yet another avenue to explore, along with their leather-strap customisation session with artist Hakim Idriss.
Vacheron Constantin’s Gem Setting Workshop lets guests craft their own bezel under expert guidance, while Panerai shows off their classic metal bracelet collection. Those looking for a rush of adrenaline should head to Roger Dubuis; the secret racing simulator challenges guests to set top lap times for prizes.
Watches and jewellery go hand in hand—a fact that L’ÉCOLE’s presence only serves to cement. With expert talks on jewellery history and Kids’ Workshops offering an introductory glimpse at the craft, L’ÉCOLE enhances the event.
Experience Time is definitely an outing to consider this weekend, especially if one has a penchant for luxury watches, or simply having a good time.
