Kendall Jenner Had To Stop Catwalk Modelling Because She Was On The “Verge Of A Mental Breakdown”
She was forced to take some time out
Kendall Jenner has admitted to being on the verge of a mental breakdown last fashion-week show season.
The 22-year-old revealed that her anxiety got so bad that she was forced to stop doing catwalk shows all together.
“Last season I didn’t do any shows. Just ’cause I was working in LA and I was like ‘Oof, I can’t right now- I’m gonna go crazy,’” she explained in an interview for LOVE magazine. “I was on the verge of a mental breakdown.”
The star, who is one of the most well-known names in fashion, instead stayed at home to focus on her health.
The model added that, despite appreciating how fortunate she is, she sometimes wishes that her life was different, saying: “I wouldn’t change it for the world but there are days where I wish I could walk outside and nothing would be like it is right now.”
This isn’t the first time that Jenner has spoken about her health struggles. In January, she described her anxiety as “debilitating” to friend Cara Delevingne in an interview for Harper’s Bazaar, admitting that she sometimes wakes up “in the middle of the night with full-on panic attacks”.
“You go online and you see everyone saying the worst things to each other, and it’s hard to stay positive,” she continued. “It’s hard not to get eaten alive by all the negativity.”
In that same month, her mother Kris Jenner spoke about her daughter’s struggle during the international fashion weeks in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
“Kendall has anxiety, and I think she has so much going on that she gets herself really worked up,” she explained.
“Kendall gets the most anxious during fashion week, so when she’s traveling a lot and Milan’s coming up and trying to juggle it all, [it’s] overwhelming.”
