Warehouse421 - Dubai's creative arts and education hub - has announced an exciting new line up of local art and film exhibitions to run September through November.
The opening of Community & Critique: Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship (SEAF) 2018/19 Cohort 6, and Hollowed by the Emirati visual artist Maitha Abdalla bolsters the organisations remit to provide a platform for regional creatives, helping to stimulate conversation in the field.
The Community & Critique: SEAF 2018/19 Cohort 6 show, which will run from 14 September to 24 November, follows a ten month artistic education and development program. The exhibition will present the artworks of 15 emerging artists who are based right here in the UAE. The opening night will include a talk featuring artists from the latest SEAF cohort to discuss their works.
Hollowed, which will run from 14 September to 13 October, presents a film installation created by the emerging Emirati visual artist, Maitha Abdalla. Abdalla focuses on providing social commentaries through her artwork, inviting audiences to explore the human condition in narrative form.
