What do you do?
I am a 6-foot tall 'yogini'. I teach all different types of Yoga, Barre, and Pilates. I also am a Registered Dietitian of Canada, with a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Toronto.
How did you become a yogini?
A few years ago I was working in a very stressful environment and lost what it felt like to have the excitement, I once felt as a child. I was also stressed and focused on things that didn’t matter in the overall scheme of life. I quit my office job and turned to yoga (full-time) to see if it would help reframe my mind and I haven’t looked back ever since.
What is your favourite part about your career?
I get to make people happy and feel content about who they are as a person and what potential they can bring to the world. I help people realise it’s not about wanting what you don’t have, but it’s about being happy with what you have right in front of you and using that to improve the world.
What motivates you?
Besides Batman, I am motivated by the stares, the comments (good and bad), the haters, the lovers, and everything in between. My biggest motivation in life is never missing an opportunity to help another person and getting people to believe that they can do anything. It’s as simple as that.
What is your favourite quote from the lululemon manifesto?
"Do one thing a day that scares you.” – How cool is that? We all get stuck in ruts, and need to try new things that make us pee our pants a little bit!
What is your personal life motto?
Let go and live in the moment! Don’t hold onto grudges or anything that won’t serve you because it spoils the present moment. Sometimes we only have one chance for opportunities, so take them, run with them, and don’t look back!
