The founder of Dubai-based blog Desert Mannequin is experimental with beauty but would never try an oyster

American, 31

Favourite make-up brand: “It’s a close tie between Nars and Chanel. The products they make really suit my skin type and tone and I have been loyal to them for years.”

Foundation: “I don’t use foundation because I don’t like to cover up my skin. I can’t recommend Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer enough. I also use Drunk Elephant’s Marula Oil as a base before applying anything, as it results in the most flawless complexion.”

Go-to lip colour: Nars Kiss Me Stupid. “It gives your lips a hint of colour which is just perfect for a more olive/tanned complexion.”

Mascara: “Cult favourite, L’Oréal Voluminous in Black.”

Current perfume: “I wear an oud/musk scent from Ajmal.”

Go-to snack: “As of late, peanut butter on a cracker!”

Workout method: “I’ve been playing a lot of tennis lately. It was my first true childhood love, which I’m happy to be getting back into.”

Guilty food pleasures: Cheeseburgers, fried chicken and fries.

Drink preference: “Green tea all day.”

Breakfast: “I’m not a huge breakfast person.”

Food dislikes: “I’m not very adventurous with food. I would never try an oyster for example.”

Hairstylist: Sandra at Belle Femme.

Hair schedule: “I try to squeeze in a hair appointment every six weeks for an oil massage, trim and blow out.”

Style secret: “Out of the shower, and air dry.”

Treatments: “I’m pretty fuss-free when it comes to my hair. I do like to get an oil treatment every now and again and Le Labo has recently come out with a scrub shampoo, which is really great.”

Favourite products: “Anything by Ouai or Le Labo.”

Off-duty hair look: “Pulled back, or air-dried and down.”

Bad hair day secret: “I put it up in a topknot.”

Skincare routine: “I’m loyal to three brands: Drunk Elephant, Skinceuticals and La Prairie – I love their foaming cleanser and cellular refining lotion, which works amazingly.”

Moisturiser: “I alternate between Drunk Elephant’s Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF30 or Skinceuticals’ Brightening UV Defence Broad Spectrum Moisturizer.”

Flight essentials: “Marula Oil and a clean, hydrated face.”

Miracle product: “Retinol. Battles those wrinkles away.”

Manicure: “I usually go colourless. I wear my nails super short, and try to make sure
my hands and feet are well exfoliated and moisturised.”

Suncream: SPF50 or bust.
