BAZAAR Reviewed Dior’s New Ultra Care Lipstick And This Is What We Thought
Dior has released their new Rouge Ultra Care Lipstick line, and it’s safe to say – we’re obsessed. Split into an Ultra Care Liquid Lip and an Ultra Care Lipstick, you’ve got the option of both; with flower oil infused qualities, the two beauty products have an irresistible petal-soft finish. The only question is: which one will you get?
More than just a lipstick, Rouge Dior is described as the soul of beauty, a beautiful union of the power of colour and creativity. This lipstick is pinned as “Ultra Care” because of the soft formula and finish that it offers. While this lippie is both luminous and offers a pearly-finish look, its 12 hour wear is not to be underestimated. With 10 shades to offer, you’ll almost be overwhelmed with choices, but that isn’t all. The lipstick itself transforms colour on different skintones; making it perfect to find the perfect shade that specifically suits you. Skincare & makeup combined into the cutest little red packaging is least of this beauty product’s powers.
Meanwhile, Rouge Dior’s Ultra Care liquid is an airy, velvety mousse-like formula with a weightless-feel. Think: Ultra Care Lipstick’s sister but in liquid-lip form. With it’s natural origin of 100 per cent cameline, sweet almond oils, and shea butter, the whipped cream blend that the liquid lip takes is perfect to comfortably glide on. No peeling and no dryness can be found here. The Ultra Care Liquid stays its ground and is as durable as the next liquid lip, but with all the best qualities.Â

Why you loved it: High-quality texture with a long-lasting coat. Colour is absolutely GORGEOUS – the perfect pop of colour to add something a little bit different to your look. Wand is shaped and well suited for easy and seamless application.
The perfect place to wear this lipstick: Ladies’ night, clubbing and perfect for date night – it’s sultry and mysterious with a femme fatale edge. Could also use this lipstick to add a little bit of drama to a causal outfit.

Why you loved it: I personally loved this lipstick because of how soft it felt, and how wearable the colour was. The lipstick leaves a nice tint even if it comes off after a while – which shows how pigmented and durable it is – it’s the type of lipstick I’d keep in my bag & have on me at all times!
The perfect place to wear this lipstick: On my skin tone, the colour of the lippie transforms to a nice pink-peach with a pearly glaze, so I would say it’s great to wear to work in the office or during the weekend if you’re going for a brunch date. Definitely any occasion during the day.
How to style this lipstick: Honestly, you could style it with just about anything. I would style it with jeans a nice graphic-tee. Casual but cute.

Why you loved it:Â The pointed applicator serves my unsteady hands well and using what was more a powder style formula I successfully coloured within the lines / avoided any orange teeth. It dried to a lovely, mortified texture yet not once did I feel my lips were dry. The colour itself stayed a strong pigment for over three hours and (perhaps my favourite part) when I reapplied a coat over the top my lips remained soft a supple seeming, unlike the usual dried out state a reapplication of liquid lipstick could result in. All in all? 10/10 would recommend, and the lip colour is my new handbag staple.
The perfect place to wear this lipstick: I’m a big fan of a bare face, bold lipstick situation for the office and this colour was the perfect balance of pigmented without being too much of a statement for everyday wear.
How to style this lipstick: I’m styling this lipstick with black cycling shorts, a (also black) drop waist tunic and burnt umber court shoes – kind of like an orange and black fashion sandwich!
