Summer is here and the heat is upon us! SPF is an essential part of any skincare regimen but even more vital in the summer months when we spend more time outdoors. Be sure to apply sunscreen in the morning and to top up aat least every two hours (more frequently if you are using a lower factor). It’s important to choose a product that protects against UVA and UVB rays because UVA rays cause sunburn while UVB rays cause wrinkles and premature aging. Here are a few of our favourite SPF products.
Clinique Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector, Broad Spectrum SPF 40
Clinique Super City Block is great for every day use and since it’s oil-free it doesn’t clog pores. It protects against sun and environmental damage with broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sun block and antioxidants. We love that it’s light-weight and non-greasy.

Sisley Super Soin Solaire Facial Sun Care, SPF 50+
With complex UVA and UVB filters, this formula protects skin from sun ageing. With vitamin E, edelweiss extract, camellia oil an shea butter, the formula has anti-free radical properties that act as a barrier, while also being super moisturising. It’s also water resistant, making it ideal for pool days.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops, SPF 50
This product is one of our favourites because not only does it provide SPF 50 protection against UVA & UVB rays but it also moisturises and promotes the regeneration of damaged cell structures. In other words, it’s treating your skin while protecting it. You can apply it directly to skin or you can add a few drops to your moisturiser or complexion enhancer.

La Roche-Posay Sunscreen Anthelios Clear Skin
This brand is one of the tried and true sunscreen brands on the market. We love all of their sunscreen products but lately we’ve been using Clear Skin because it goes on matte, doesn’t clog pores and provides mega protection of SPF 60.

This sunscreen is water-based so it’s it’s very light-weight. It’s perfect for sensitive skin because it is non-comedogenic (i.e. won’t clog pores) and paraben free. An added bonus, it can be used on face and body. Be sure to pack this tube in your beach bag!
