Kayla Itsines On Her Go-To Beauty Products, Favourite Snacks and Daily Routine

The 28-year old Aussie mega-trainer explains why activated charcoal should be in everyone’s beauty routine

MAKE-UP / FRAGRANCE

Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (Dhs245) .

Go-to lip colour: MAC in Velvet Teddy (Dhs95).

Mascara: Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara (Dhs147).

Current perfume: Coco Mademoiselle By Chanel (Dhs424)

Signature make-up hack: Always do your eyes first, because it will stop you from caking on your face make-up.

HAIR

Go-to style: I am always in gym gear, so I always have my hair in a high pony.

Treatments: I have super thin hair, so I always have extensions in.

Favourite products: I absolutely swear by the Natalie Anne Enriched Hydrating Hair Mask (Dhs93). The brand was founded by a Lebanese family living in Australia. The hair mask has activated charcoal and it’s totally incredible.

SKIN & BODY

Skincare routine morning & evening: I have the same routine for morning and evening. I start by washing my face with a cleanser before using the Pixi Peel Pads (Dhs185) to exfoliate. I finish with hyaluronic acid and moisturiser.

Moisturiser: La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Rich (Dhs135)

Flight essentials: I always wipe my seat down with antibacterial wipes. I also bring a silk pillow case to put over the plane pillows. Imagine how many other peoples’ skin has touched them!

Miracle product: Envy U Skin Charcoal Cleanser. It has literally fixed all my skin problems; it’s amazing.

INTERVENTION

Attitude to injectables: I think women should do whatever makes them feel confident, but I would also ask yourself if you’re doing it for yourself or for other people. If the world was blind and no one could see you, would you still want to have work done?

DIET & FITNESS

Food intolerances/food groups: Since I became pregnant I can’t eat aubergine anymore. It kills me that I can’t eat miso aubergine when I go to a Japanese restaurant now! I’ve always been lactose intolerant as well.

Go-to snack: Sushi.

Workout method: My 28-minute high-intensity Bikini Body Guides workout program. I created it and made it my personal mission to help as many women as possible achieve their health and fitness goals.

Guilty food pleasures: My grandma’s cake.

Beverage preference: Greek coffee.

Breakfast: I love a traditional Greek breakfast with loads of tomatoes, olives, anchovies and olive oil. I also love chilli scrambled eggs on sourdough toast.

Food dislikes: Cheese. I’ve never understood the hype around it!
