Beauty Diaries: Soha Taha On Guilty Pleasures, Signature Scents and A Glam Girl’s Best Friend

The multifaceted creative shares her every day beauty must-haves with Bazaar Arabia

I’ve always been a full-on glam kind of girl, I’ve never really liked the clean girl aesthetic. Honestly, I don’t think it suits me, although I’ve tried hopping on to the trend, it just doesn’t feel like me.

FOUNDATION/CONCEALER

I use full coverage Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation in Tawny (1. Dhs235), but when I feel like I want less make-up I go for the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Oil-Free Matte CC+ Cream (Dhs198). This product is the ultimate make-up hack for flawless skin without foundation. My go-to concealer is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard (8. Dhs170). A glam girl’s best friend is her contour kit; I use MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Matte Foundation Stick in NC50 (7. Dhs160). Oh, and I can’t go anywhere without baking! My oily skin loves a little bake – my favourite translucent powder being the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder (5. Dhs205). I swear by this as it keeps my concealer in place for hours without caking.

MASCARA

My top pick at the moment is Armani Beauty Eyes to Kill Classico Mascara (6. Dhs220); it just makes my lashes so long and thick. For my brows I always love products from Benefit, I’ve been using them for 10 years now. I use the Precisely My Brow Pencil in number 4.5 (Dhs135) and 24-Hour Brow Setter Gel (Dhs135).

LIP COLOUR

To complete my look I usually go for a nude lipstick and a darker nude lip liner. I am currently a fan of Make Up For Ever Artist Colour Lip Liner in 606 which I team with Charlotte Tilbury’s The Super Nudes Lipstick in Catwalking (Dhs145). I like to finish with Huda Beauty Easy Bake & Snatch Pressed Brightening and Setting Powder (Dhs150).

SIGNATURE SCENT

Giorgio Armani Sì EDP (3. Dhs655 for 100ml) paired with Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower 57 (Dhs495 for 100ml).

SKIN & BODY

For someone who wears make-up almost every day, I have to use an excellent remover. I cannot recommend Take It All Off by Charlotte Tilbury (2. Dhs155) enough, it just removes everything like magic!

For my face wash, I recently switched to Sesderma Hidraven Foamy Soap-Free Cream Cleanser (Dhs70) as I have acne prone skin; this cleanser contains Salicylic Acid to help my skin rejuvenate. I then follow up with Kiehl’s Ultra-Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream (Dhs160). I try to avoid anything that contains oil and instead use…

SUN CREAM

I always apply Babe Sunscreen Oil-Free Lotion with Spf 50+ (Dhs200).

MANICURE

I am a big fan of Blanc Nail Polish by Essie (4. Dhs55).

HAIR

Because my hair rarely sees the sun, I try to keep it hydrated and moisturised as much as possible. I use the Kérastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste Shampoo (Dhs150) and Conditioner (9. Dhs185) duo. For extra shine I add Moroccanoil One Leave-in Conditioner (10. Dhs120).

DIET & FITNESS

Although I love a good fried meal I try to stay away from anything cooked in a lot of oil. I’m able to achieve this thanks to my air fryer. I can’t remember my life without it. I’ll have salmon for lunch or dinner, three days in a row. Trust me, it works like a charm.

GUILTY FOOD PLEASURE

It definitely has to be chocolate. In particular, Ferrero Rocher, I have two of them a day.
