Bobbi Brown Is Leaving Her Cosmetic Brand After 25 Years

It’s the end of an era

Make-up artist and entrepreneur Bobbi Brown is set to leave her namesake cosmetic line in a surprise move. Announced yesterday by Estée Lauder Companies Inc. who owns the brand, WWD has reported she is set to step down by the end of the year.

Having been at the helm of the globally renowned brand for 25 years, the 59-year-old beauty maven leaves the business under the command of Estée Lauder’s current global brand president Peter Lichtenthal. She is set to announce her next professional move sometime in the coming year.

A sad day for beauty aficionados, Brown was a true pioneer known for celebrating natural beauty. Starting as a make-up artist for runway shows and editorial shoots back in the 1980s, she launched her eponymous brand back in 1991, selling her company to Estée Lauder in 1995. Since then she has continued to lead the way in revolutionising ideals within the beauty industry, celebrating her 25th anniversary this year.
