Dolce & Gabbana’s international make-up artist tells Bazaar about the brand’s new Miss Sicily lipsticks

“Dolce & Gabbana’s Miss Sicily Colour and Care lipstick range is a complete palette of Italian colours for the lips,” the brand’s make-up artist tells Bazaar. “The collection takes inspiration from Sicilian names (an island close to the designers’ hearts) like Rosa, Annunziata and Domenica, names given to Sicilian saints but also to normal people, two pillars of the Dolce & Gabbana brand. It is a tribute to these women and a glorification of their sensuality, elegance, passion, love and sense of the family,” he explains. The lipsticks, which are easy to wear and easy to apply, offer a buildable colour, from soft and sheer to a bright, bold effect, as the Miss Sicily woman lives by her own rules.

“Women in Middle East will find the perfect colour to wear in the Miss Sicily collection. The complete palette of 16 shades gives them the opportunity to choose the right colour for them, from nudes, pinks, purples, corals, oranges, reds.” He teaches us that for a flash lip look, you apply quickly and easily in one layer. For a more sophisticated look, you must first apply lip liner to define the contour and corners of the lips, then apply the matching colour from the collection with one layer all over the lips for a sheer finish result. You can add more layers for a bolder effect and use a bit of pressed powder to matify the finish and make the lipstick long lasting.
