Charlotte Tilbury Becomes First Beauty Brand To Collaborate With Formula 1

The partnership aims to achieve their mutual goal to empower individuals worldwide to embrace confidence

Charlotte Tilbury is the latest brand to be a part of F1 Academy — Formula 1’s female-only racing championship and it has officially made the company the first beauty line and first female-founded brand to sponsor the sub-league.

While Formula 1 racing has been one of the most popular sporting events watched worldwide for a while, recently it has gained a larger female audience, which many credit to Netflix’s Drive to Survive docuseries.

In 2022, before F1 Academy’s 2023 inaugural season, global attendance of F1 events was up 36 percent from 2019 to 5.7 million. It was estimated then that 40 percent of F1 fans were female, up 8 percent from 2017.

In a series of Instagram posts, Lola Lovinfosse, an 18-year-old F1 Academy driver, revealed that she will be wearing a Charlotte Tilbury racing suit and helmet while driving a Rodin Motorsport-operated car adorned with the brand’s signature Hot Lips pattern.

The livery, helmet, and racing suit all feature Charlotte Tilbury branding in the beauty line’s signature night crimson and rose gold colours, and their empowerment mantra Makeup Your Destiny!

The official testing of the vehicle was done at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia. The partnership aims to bring the shared purpose of Charlotte Tilbury and F1 Academy to “empower everyone, everywhere to feel their most confident.” The league is set to begin its second season in March.

Throughout the academy season, Charlotte Tilbury will raise awareness of the fifteen inspiring young drivers, aged between 16 and 25.

The academy will conduct races that will take place across seven locations including the Middle Eastern cities, Jeddah, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
