Sabyasachi Collaborates With Estée Lauder On New Lipstick Collection
Complete with 24-carat gold-plated casings, the beauty range encapsulates India’s vibrant colours and textiles
Hailing from Kolkota, India, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has redefined luxury when it comes to traditional Indian wear.
The esteemed couturiere is known for his decadent creations, bringing elaborate Indian craftsmanship to luxury fashion circles – from runways to the red carpet, and high street department stores.

Having expanded his brand to include jewellery, accessories, and home furnishing over the years, the designer is now foraying into the world of beauty.
This week, Sabyasachi announced they will be releasing a limited-edition collection of lipsticks, in partnership with beauty brand, Estée Lauder.
For the French conglomerate, the move is part of a wider strategy to capture the Indian market, while Sabyasachi has been seeding the idea of beauty range for over two decades, according to the designer.
Now, the collaborative range comes after more than four years in the making, and celebrates the vibrant essence and spirit of India.

With shades including ‘Bombay Berry’ and ‘Kolkata Red’ the high-end lipsticks pay homage to the colours, textiles, and people of the region.
Available in two finishes, ultra matte and satin matte, the collection features ten colourways in hues of red, brown, pink and peach, designed to complement India’s wide spectrum of skin tones.
The lipsticks embody the designer’s classic sensibilities, from the Bengal Tiger insignia emblazoned on the glossy black casings to the floral motifs engraved on the lipstick bullets. Gold-plated accents also add an additional layer of opulence to the keepsake object.
The Sabyasachi and Estée Lauder lipstick collection will launch on March 4, 2024. Beauty enthusiasts from the region can shop the collection from the official Sabyasachi and Estée Lauder websites.
