Dyson Supersonic r: Can You Buy it in The UAE, KSA and GCC?
After yesterday’s reveal we’re curious to know more – including when it will be coming to the region
Just when we were starting to figure out how to get our hands on the Dyson Airstrait, the British tech giant debuted an entirely new hair styling tool – Dyson Supersonic r – its smallest and lightest hair dryer to date.
Dyson — known for its high-tech, air-centric hair tools — announced on Thursday the latest addition to their arson, revealing it at New York Fashion Week.
Dyson Supersonic r: Everything You Need to Know
Celebrity hairstylist and global ambassador for the brand, Larry King, posted about the launch and revealed that the dryer is 30 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter, as compared to its previous counterparts. The tool also features a revolutionary curve that can get more direct and concentrated airflow right at the roots of the hair for a more refined result.
In an Instagram post, he wrote: “This slim line tool is an absolute game changer! It comes with 7 attachments that are designed with RFID chips that remember the last setting used with that chosen attachment, so when you go back to use them they are ready and waiting with your preferred heat and airflow setting!”
The Supersonic r was developed to allow smoother maneuverability and frizz-free, shiny results with minimal heat damage, as the tech company also unveiled a brand-new technology called the Dyson Hyperdymium, a streamlined heater to evenly heat airflow, as well as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensors that communicate with the hair dryer to adjust the motor and heater to provide optimal airflow and temperature.

There’s also a reason behind its name, the hair dryer is crafted into a distinct “r” curve, which was designed to offer stylists more control and comfort. The device is said to help prevent strain related injuries in stylists such as carpal tunnel syndrome, which are common in the industry.
Can You Buy the Dyson Supersonic r in the UAE, KSA and GCC?
If you were getting excited to also try out the tool, there’s a catch: you will only be able to do it at your favourite hair salon. The blow-dryer will be available exclusively to professional stylists with a valid cosmetology license. The international website currently allows sign-ups to be notified when the new product is available to purchase. Here’s where you can sign up.
We’re keeping an eye out for when the hair tool will be available in the UAE, KSA and the rest of the GCC. Check back soon for more information.
