Cindy Crawford Reveals The Simple Move That Gives Her Incredible Abs At 53

At 53, Cindy Crawford seems to be ageing in reverse, and the secret to her flawless physique is something everyone can do for free. While Crawford is best known for gracing the covers of fashion magazines and walking the runways, she was also a fitness model and appeared in several workout DVDs, including New Dimension, Shape Your Body Workout, and Next Challenge Workout. Fast forward decades later, Crawford continues to show us her favourite workouts on her Instagram account.

On Wednesday morning, the former supermodel took to the platform to post a brilliant compound exercise that works your entire body. In the video, Crawford uses a bench to step up and carries a sandbag overhead to engage her abs. Challenging her balance and upper-body strength, Crawford lifts her leg up to her chest as she lowers the sandbag to her chest, too. This full-body movement strengthens your legs, bottom, core, and shoulders.

Crawford knows how important exercise is as you get older. Lifting weights can not only help protect your bones, but it can also help reduce back pain and boost brain health. Last year, she co-founded Ladder, a line of protein powders for muscle recovery, with LeBron James, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Lindsey Vonn.
In a 2017 interview with The Cut, Crawford talked about how she balances strength work with cardio. "Sometimes the cardio is jumping on a trampoline, using a treadmill or elliptical, or running. We have stairs going down to the beach from our house. I put on an audiobook or music while I run the stairs at my house for 20 minutes," she says.

Check out this older Instagram post of Crawford doing squat hops with a resistance band. This exercise gets her heart rate up while working her thighs and glutes.

All we can say is keep on doing what you're doing, Cindy, because it's working.
