As Victoria Beckham launches her namesake cosmetics company, we're learning that her approach to beauty is more than skin deep.
Talking to The Telegraph about plans for Victoria Beckham Beauty, the designer and entrepreneur revealed that after reading that the key to glowing skin is consuming the right amount of fats, she now "eats three or four avocados a day."
Nutritionally dense, avocados are a celebrated source of monounsaturated fat and vitamin E. It's thought that getting enough of these healthy fats can keep your skin moisturized and resilient. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, helping protect cells from oxidative stress which is associated with aging.
However, Beckham tells the publication that her skincare regime is "not about wanting to look younger." Her perspective fits with the ethos of "#notperfect," which is central to her beauty brand's identity on social media.
At the press launch of Victoria Beckham Beauty, the star expanded on this notion. "I’m not going to be coming out with products saying they’re going to get rid of wrinkles—because that’s bullshit," she told us.
"I think we should celebrate who we are, and be the best, most powerful version of ourselves," she added. And if that means consuming multiple avocados a day or wearing a killer lipstick/smoky eye/signature scent that conjures confidence, so be it.
