Exclusive: Iris Law On Becoming The Face Of Burberry Beauty
The up-and-coming model gets candid about all things beauty with Bazaar
As far as career moves go, fronting a campaign for Burberry Beauty is an impressive title to have on your CV at the tender age of 16. Stepping into the role with style, grace and an understandable level of nerves, Iris Law, (daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost), reveals the beauty codes she lives by, anti-contour logic and childhood connection with the British heritage brand as they launch two new game-changing products…
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia: How did you react when you were first approached by Burberry to be an ambassador?
Iris Law: “I was just really honoured and excited to be asked, obviously I was a bit nervous as it’s the first global campaign that I’ve ever done but I had to keep it a secret for a while. When I found out the news I was actually with my best friend in New York so I told her, she kept it quiet though! I was just so thrilled and excited.”
HBA: What are some of your ‘can’t live without’ products?
IL: “Mascara is an everyday product for me so I love the Burberry Cat Lashes. Burberry have also just launched a Full Brows product as well, I use the liquid side to build the colour into my brows and frame my face.”
HBA: Have you always have an affinity with the label?
IL: “Since I’ve been shooting these campaigns the most fun part has been experimenting with make-up and getting to know more about the brand but I’ve always had a link to Burberry. When I was younger my mum used to carry me around in a Burberry baby carrier!”
HBA: What does your daily beauty routine look like?
IL: “I like to stay very moisturized – rose hip oil is something I apply every morning. I don’t worry about concealer and foundation every day. Mascara on my top and bottom lashes is the most I usually apply, I like to focus on my eyes. Maybe a bit of blusher but it depends on what I’ve got going on.”
HBA: What do you add to amplify the look for a night out?
IL: “I still prefer to keep things quite natural but the Burberry Lip Velvet formula is a lot of fun – that’s a really good way to make yourself look a little older and more put-together on a night out. The new Cat Eye Liner from Burberry is also a great tool to keep in your bag, I like adding definition to my eyes.”
HBA: Who do you personally look to for your beauty inspiration?
IL: “A mix of friends, family, social media and YouTube videos. I’m surrounded by a lot of women who love make-up, I used to watch my mum apply hers when I was younger and now a lot of my friends inspire me as well. Instagram is a really good way to get inspired, especially if you like to experiment.”
HBA: Is there a beauty trend you don’t think you could ever get on board with?
IL: “I tend to stay away from a really harsh contour. I don’t like my make-up to look too heavy. I thought I had found my signature look but having worked with Burberry for the last few months, I’m constantly learning new tips and tricks so my beauty style is evolving every day.”
