What is Pink Caravan?
Pink Caravan was founded in 2011 with the aim of increasing awareness about breast cancer detection (including early detection) within the UAE.
The initiative offers free screenings and medical assistance to individuals across the seven Emirates whilst raising awareness about the disease as well. Throughout the year a variety of events are hosted to constantly increase knowledge and encourage individuals to get screened for the disease. One of the events involves horse-riding throughout the Emirates with many volunteers taking part. During the Pink Caravan’s Ride Various Royals across the UAE take time to welcome them into their Emirates to also help raise awareness.
In February of this year, H.E Reem Bin Karam, Chairperson of the Pink Caravan Steering Committee, took to Instagram to announce the organisation had surpassed their goal of conducting 11,000 screenings.
