Coastal Chic: Chanel Is Bringing Cruise 2022/23 To Miami
The French fashion house will infuse the glamour of the Riviera with bold, Floridian spirit…
There’s no cruise collection like a Chanel one: after all, it was the French fashion house’s founder, Gabrielle Chanel, who introduced its concept to the world — and following the debut of its iconic Cruise 2022/23 Collection in Monte Carlo, Chanel is bringing the heat to Miami with a show taking place on November 3.
Last season’s collection draws inspiration from the French Riviera’s exquisite iconography, while maintaining the French fashion house’s signature Parisian style sensibilities. From the extensive use of Monte Carlo’s race-themed checkerboard prints, to the adoption of a flouncy, beachy silhouette – it showcases creative director Virginie Viard’s vision at its chicest. Cruise 2022/23’s highlights include tennis racquet-shaped bags and playful crochet ensembles in the region’s famed red hue, a fitting tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s love for Monaco in all its sartorial splendour.

Chanel’s comeback to Miami will take place fourteen years after Karl presented the Cruise 2008/09 collection in Raleigh Hotel. The upcoming show is testament to Chanel’s increasing affinity for the Magic City, having opened a 7,600 m boutique designed by longtime collaborator Peter Marino in the heart of Miami’s fashion district last year.
With all the enthusiasm the Maison is showing towards America’s coastal metropolis, the November Cruise 2022/23 show is certainly expected to be one for the books.
