As an editor, I’m sent just about every new lotion and potion that makes it to the market, from luxe cult favourites to the ones with patent technological advances. For my thirty-something, sensitive-combination complexion it gets the job done. So, yes, I was more than a little excited when it was revealed the brand would be launching an eye cream.

Naturally, in true Huda Kattan fashion, WISHFUL knew it had to step it up if it was going to bring an eye cream to market. After all, there are hundreds to choose from and young, savvy consumers (we’re looking at you, Gen-Z) understand the importance of taking care of the skin around their eyes.
In addition to a formula that contains ingredients like matcha, peptides and Bakuchiol – known as the plant-based retinol – Eye Lift & Contour comes in a reusable applicator that boasts a zamak tip – an extra little bonus that can help reduce puffiness.
“As a business, we’re constantly searching for different ways to be sustainable,” note Huda, touching on the unique packaging. “Eye Lift & Contour is our first refillable product, and the packaging is made with PCR (post-consumer recycled) materials. It is 100% recyclable, which is something that we’re proud of.”

Huda took some time to answer our questions about WISHFUL’s Eye Lift & Contour.
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): Why was now the right time to launch Eye Lift & Contour?
Huda Kattan (HK): At the moment, I’m super into having a snatched eye look, which I typically try to achieve with make-up so we’ve been working on creating a WISHFUL product that would create an amazing base to create this look. So this is really the perfect moment to be launching Eye Lift as it coincides with the make-up trend that I’m loving at the moment.
HBA: Why Bakuchiol as an active ingredient instead of, say, retinol?
HK: A lot of brands use retinol in their formulations, and it’s been scientifically proven to work repeatedly, but it does come with a couple of drawbacks. Which is why we decided to use Bakuchiol, especially since the skin around the eye is so delicate. Like Retinol, Bakuchiol has both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but it is a naturally occurring ingredient that makes it good for all skin types. Actually, 1% is effective enough to deliver its benefits while still being suitable for sensitive skin!
HBA: As young people are taking better care of their skin than ever before, is this safe for someone to use if they don’t have signs of aging or premature aging?
HK: Absolutely! Eye Lift & Contour is safe to use for any age group – eye cream should be an essential part of everyone’s skincare routine. The skin around the eye is super delicate and sensitive and can lose elasticity, so under-eye cream is a great way to hydrate this delicate area.
