A digital marriage videoconferencing software is currently being displayed at Gitex Global 2023. By using this new technology, residents of the UAE can legally tie the knot and say “I do” – with legally binding digital signatures, online applications for marriage certificates, and online payments and approvals.

According to Khaleej Times, ADJD displayed the videoconferencing software for matrimony at Gitex Global 2023 in Dubai. The service’s overarching goal is to simplify marriage in Abu Dhabi from an administrative point of view. Demonstrating that applying for marriage contracts electronically is legal, ADJD highlighted the fact that online approvals, online payments, as well as binding digital signatures are additionally part of the Mubarak Al-Afrahkoum online marriage process.

In other words, expatriates in the UAE can remotely sign their official wedding contracts online via videoconference – with digital signatures that are contractually binding – in addition to applying for a marriage certificate online.

How To Get Married Online In The UAE: Key Points To Note

  • The digital service will be available exclusively to applicants using UAE Pass.
  • Firstly, applicants must apply for the marriage contract via videoconference. Then, upon approval, payment procedures must be completed online.
  • Thirdly, applicants must book an appointment to sign the marriage contract using WebEx (web conferencing). Finally, applicants must sign the final marriage contract once received, with digital signatures of both parties.
