A Letter From The Editor | Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Bride A/W22

Nina Catt introduces the latest issue of Bazaar Bride – an edition full of fanciful fashion, exquisite jewels, real weddings and haute honeymoons. Join us on a magical journey, won’t you?

I have a confession to make. I’m addicted to love. Romantic movies with heart-wrenchingly adorable meet-cutes are my jam, and yes, I am partial to ’80s Tom Cruise movies and the famous Robert Palmer song that unforgettably features in Cocktail – thanks for asking. Truth be told, I’m a hopeless romantic. Unquestionably the reason I adore each and every intricate detail of curating Bazaar Bride. From shining the spotlight on creatives whose inherent passion for their craft sets hearts on fire, and being one of the fortunate first to witness couture gowns sashay to life, to unearthing dreamy honeymoon destinations. I adore it all.

I’m the kind of person (assuming there are more of us out there?) that secretly hopes for surprise marriage proposals at any given event. Friends invite me over for a BBQ? My mind spirals out of control and has already conjured-up a sweet fantasy of it being a ruse for popping the big question, before I’ve even had time to RSVP. I’m ridiculous, I know. Those close to me have mentioned I’m an over-thinker, delicately implying it’s a bad thing. But I once read that over-thinkers are also over-carers who love in the most deeply profound way. So actually, I’ll proudly wear that title – along with being a daydream believer. Nobody can say I’m in the wrong job, that’s for sure.

Now that the world is back to ‘normal’ and weddings are in full-swing without limitations, we’re thrilled to escort you on a magical flight throughout the pages, as you plan your own fairy-tale moment. Delve into fanciful fashion, breathtaking beauty, dazzling diamonds and all of the other spectacular details that go into meeting your soul mate at the end of the aisle.

As always, one of my favourite sections is our Real Weddings where we lift the veil on the whimsical days of several beautiful brides. Serving as the ultimate mood board inspiration, see Leila and Jules’ enchanted Italian affair, Nadine and Amr’s Egyptian extravaganza, and Maria and Serge’s floral-filled fantasy, held inside a stunning flower nursery in Lebanon complete with roaming saxophonists dressed as gardeners. It is these stories and the privilege of telling them that truly makes my heart sing. Enjoy the issue…
