Inside The Wedding Of Nadine Seyagh and Reda Attieh
A tented tropical paradise served as a dreamy backdrop for this stylish couple’s Senegal nuptials
Fairy-tale weddings were unquestionably on the minds of 29-year-old Lebanese Nadine Sayegh, and 34-year-old French-Lebanese Reda Attieh, for the couple met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Bodrum back in 2015. “Two years later our paths crossed again at another wedding – this time in Beirut – and that’s where our love story began,” Nadine tells Bazaar Bride.

Beginning their relationship as friends, the couple got to know each other from afar – Nadine living between Lebanon and the Ivory Coast and Reda based in Senegal. “We tried to see one another as much as possible. The distance was difficult but Reda made it fun. He always makes me laugh and that’s why I fell in love with him.” After a two-and-a-half-year long-distance courtship, Reda proposed whilst the loved-up pair were on holiday in Paris.

Fast forward two months and the bride and groom-to-be enlisted the help of Beirut-based wedding planners, Strawberries & Champagne, who are renowned for creating dreamy destination weddings. “At first we wanted to get married in Paris or the South of France and our wedding planner, Jessy Karam, got to work searching for the perfect venue, but once we put our guest list together and it came out at over 600 people, we decided to get married in Senegal where a lot of our loved ones are based”.

Set against the striking backdrop of a picturesque bay, the couple chose Hôtel Ngor Diarama to host their magical three-day celebration. Comprising of a religious ceremony and a cocktail reception followed by a beautifully relaxed beach day, and then a spectacular wedding party, it was certainly a memorable occasion. On December 14, 2019 accompanied by her father and in front of 630 guests, the bride made her grand entrance in a stunning Zuhair Murad gown, backed by the song Elysium by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard.

Expertly curated by the team at Strawberries & Champagne, a tropical paradise was created inside a beachfront tent within the hotel’s grounds to house the celebrations. Swathed with palm trees,a mirrored tunnel lead guests inside the main space which was designed to feel like a tropical oasis. “On one side, large screens projected scenes of a rainforest and on the other, a thousand torches shimmered on the shore. We had two types of tables – mirror-topped, adorned with runners of lunaria, gold baby’s breath, dried grass and roses. And our checkered-topped tables were decorated with fragrant orange and peach blooms. Everything looked beautiful.”

Guests dined on an extravagant buffet that included mouth-watering dishes from across the globe, before the party got started thanks to a band and a DJ – the newlyweds sharing their first dance to (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, by Bryan Adams. The tropical theme continued post-wedding when the newlyweds jetted off to the Philippines, the Maldives and Dubai. “We wanted our honeymoon to be relaxing, romantic, and full of discovery,” says Nadine.
