Inside The Wedding Of Nadine Njeim and Ramzy Dib
Nadine Njeim and Ramzy Dib tied the knot at an elegantly extravagant reception in their native Lebanon
Like many couples, 28-year-old actress Nadine Njeim and telecomunications engineer Ramzy Dib, 32, both from Lebanon, met while at university. It wasn’t love at first sight, however, as Nadine confesses that when she first met Ramzy at the American University of Beirut, “He thought he was the coolest guy on campus… I immediately proceeded to shut him down with one of my smart answers,” she quips. Fast forward ten years, and they are inseparable newlyweds who can’t take their eyes off each other.

Nadine and Ramzy got married in a laid-back event at Chateau Rweiss, a former convent located on the hills near Beirut overlooking the Lebanese coast. Eschewing a set theme for their party, the couple instead wanted something “classy, fresh, fun with great food and great music.” The 500 guests who attended the wedding indulged in delicacies such as Perle Blanche oysters, black truffle linguini and “a whole Nutella stand to eat your heart out!” The low-key floral arrangements, which the bride chose to “enhance the chateau’s charm while not overdoing it,” featured roses, orchids and tulips while the stunning soundtrack was provided by a choir along with a quartet, a soprano and a harpist.

Nadine wore a couture dress by Hussein Bazaza – the brief she gave the designer was pretty straightforward: “Royal, edgy, modern and nothing like a princess’ dress… He knew exactly what to do,” she says. She finished the look with a diamond choker and bracelets – all gifts from Ramzy and his family – and a pair of pearl-embellished flat shoes from Poise Design. Ramzy and the groomsmen wore timeless Tom Ford.

Nadine, who recalls fondly the day Ramzy booked an entire beach in Dubai to propose to her, jokes that the firework display at their wedding lasted so long that the police came – “that incident, and the fact that we had to catch our plane but half of the guests refused to leave until 3am, truly made me happy,” she laughs.

The couple chose Spain as their honeymoon destination, travelling to Barcelona, Marbella and Mallorca. “We needed a summer getaway before coming back to the hustle and bustle,” says Nadine.

Her advice for the perfect wedding? “Do it the way you’d want to remember it. Your mama had her chance, your dad had his and so did everyone else. It’s your time now.”
