UAE Unlimited Presents the Work of Eight Emerging Emirati-based Artists

Entitled ‘Bayn’, the exhibition will represent a wide range of creative practices relevant to the UAE’s artistic community

Set to take place at Warehouse421 in Abu Dhabi from February 2017, UAE Unlimited’s latest exhibition Bayn: the In-Between is a collaboration between a number of UAE-based artists, curators and institutions highlighting the collective nature of the creative community in the UAE today.

Curated by Munira Al Sayegh with the aid of senior adviser Maya Allison, the founding director and chief curator of NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery, the exhibition includes the work of eight prominent emerging artists from the Middle Eastern art sphere. Including, but not limited to Emirati multi-media artist Asma Al Ahmed, Iraqi architect Hatem Hatem, Emirati musician Maytha Al Shamsi and Jordanian portrait artist Saif Mhaisen.

Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Shobha Pia Shamdsani, Executive Director of UAE Unlimited said, “Through UAE Unlimited’s partnerships with local initiatives in the UAE, we are able to offer emerging artists the advantage of working directly with experienced creative professionals whose insights are invaluable to the development of these young artists.”

By providing a platform for not only emerging artists but also curators, on such a major scale as this, the exhibition is bound to provide audiences with a sound insight into the future of art in the region.
