Exhibition title: Chefs-D’œuvre de L’art Moderne et Contemporain Arabe
This exhibition questions the power of a collection and what it is to be considered a ‘masterpiece’, by showing major works from the Barjeel Art Foundation collection, alongside works by lesser well-known artists. It is split into two sections: one room of celebrated artists from the collection in an archetypal, ‘white cube’ museum setting and a second space imagining the ‘back rooms’ of a museum, full of those underappreciated works.
