MATCHESFASHION Launches New Art.Matches.Fashion Monthly Programme

The luxury fashion giant has once again joined hands with international contemporary art fair, Frieze, merging the disciplines of art and fashion

MATCHESFASHION has been a supporter of the arts for years, having collaborated with designers, studios and institutions.

The brand’s previous partnerships have included several podcasts, videos, fashion shoots and installations with renowned artists such as The Haas Brothers, Marc Quinn and Alex Prager, to name a few.

Taking its love for art a step further, the brand launched Art.Matches.Fashion on 21 April this year, a monthly programme dedicated to highlighting rising talent and celebrating established names with various digital and physical touchpoints.

Through sensorial expressions such as podcasts, fashion events, fashion shoots and partnerships, the platform has merged the creative sides of the art and fashion industries.

Corresponding with Frieze New York, an international contemporary art fair for the programme’s very first collaboration in May, an audio guide was launched to highlight the best artists to watch within the fair and institutions across NYC.

The recorded guide features notable artists like Antwaun Sargent (writer), Kimberly Drew (institutional art curator), Dana Lok (artist) and Jenny Schlenzka (artistic director).

“Part of our heritage at MATCHESFASHION is working with cultural game-changers which is why we are excited about deepening our partnership with Frieze and launching Art.Matches.Fashion,” says Jess Christie, Chief Brand and Content Officer of MATCHESFASHION.

“Art.Matches.Fashion will be a global showcase, both digitally and physically, for our customer to discover more about our incredible fashion brands and their connection to art and innovation.”

Over the course of time, MATCHESFASHION will be creating immersive experiences and exclusive content for Frieze’s digital viewing platform, besides being exclusive partners for the fair’s member-only programme, Frieze 91.

The main purpose of Frieze 91 is to provide unique opportunities for members to enjoy early entry at all Frieze events, private access to participating galleries, tours to various artist studios and museums and year-round participation at elite global events – both digital and online. Members will also have several opportunities for priority booking at a list of global private artist foundations and historic residences.

As part of the launch of Art.Matches.Fashion, Catherine Opie, a fine-art photographer, has joined MATCHESFASHION for a podcast which is available to download at the fair and digitally on MATCHESFASHION and Frieze.com.
