Dubai Design Week is the region's largest creative festival, reflecting Dubai's position as the design capital of the Middle East. The fourth edition of the #GlobalGradShow, held in partnership with Investment Corporation of Dubai, offers a first look at 150 of the inventions shaping our tomorrow. #Repost @dubaidesignweek ・・・ Playing with light and colour, AGLOW is a captivating and energetic art installation created by @lizweststudio in collaboration with @nemozena, which will be on display at Dubai Design Week 2018. Aglow consists of one hundred and sixty-nine hemispherical fluorescent coloured acrylic bowls arranged on the ground in a hexagon shape; the edges of these multiple unplugged fluorescent bowls will glow as if charged with electricity. Liz West is a British artist who creates vivid environments that mix luminous colour and radiant light, aiming to provoke a heightened sensory awareness in the viewer. She was named one of the UK’s most dazzling artists by @wallpapermag. Aeon was created by David Harber (@davidharbersculptures), an award-winning sculptor who playfully incorporates nature, reflection, light and water in his designs to create dramatic focal points. Featuring 256 aluminium spikes that were cast in bronze and finished using 1,280 sheets of 23¾ carat gold leaf.
