Dubai knows how to impress. There is absolutely no doubt about it. From gold-clad bars to underwater restaurants and al fresco rooftops with phenomenal views, its list of hotspots goes on and on – and is constantly expanding.
Enter: At.mosphere. Sitting on the 122nd floor of the iconic Burj Khalifa (currently the tallest building in the world), the sky-high restaurant, lounge and bar has just relaunched with a stunning new look after months of renovations.
Reached by the fastest elevator in the world, At.mosphere astounds from the get-go with its spiral staircase, dazzling chandelier and mesmerising view across the city. No doubt deliberately designed as a picture-perfect moment, there was a small queue of guests waiting their turn to snap a photograph on the grand staircase when I stepped out of the elevator. I willingly joined them.
Radiating opulence with its mosaic-tile floor, crystal accents and decorative mirrors that flawlessly catch the golden light, the reception space hints to the Art Deco theme that continues into the restaurant and lounge spaces beyond.
Elegantly refined, the plush interiors are a 1920s style-aficionado’s dream come true. At.mosphere is glamorous without being pretentious; the perfect place for a date night or sophisticated soirée.
The menu is modern French-influenced with signature dishes including the tuna tartare, escargot and chicken ballotine. For the ultimate indulgence, a seven or 13 course tasting menu can be pre-booked. Vegan and vegetarian palettes are also well-catered for with a selection of seasonal plant-based options available.
Decadent yet relaxed, At.mosphere’s magical character soars – much like its location at 442 metres high – and should definitely be on your must-try list.
