Two digital creators from the region have also created virtual artworks with the help of AI, featuring Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.

A few days ago, Ai artist known as the Future Bedouin on social media shared a carousel post on Instagram depicting the iconic building covered with pink balloon-like décor. Dreamy and joyful, the phenomenal artwork shows men and women mingling below, basking in the rose-hued light of the balloons.

Additionally, the post shared by the artist also included other visuals of what a dreamy Barbieland inside the tall tower would look like. You guessed it right, all things pink and lovely.
Then, just a few days later, a larger-than-life Barbie doll – sporting her iconic black-and-white zebra striped swimsuit – steps out from a Burj-sized hot pink box. Created by UAE and KSA-based Creative Content and Social Media Agency Eye Studio, the video is playful interpretation of a mega-sized doll, appearing ready to take on Downtown Dubai. Has The Barbie Movie Been Banned in The UAE?
The release date for this highly anticipated blockbuster has been pushed back from July 20 to August 31. Although nothing has been stated about the release apart from the date, many previously banned movies have followed the same patterns, causing a major disappointment amongst fans.
The Barbie movie has already been facing the threat of unreleased by other countries around the world and has already been banned by Vietnam for the inclusion of a map that shares ‘disputed Chinese territorial claims in the South China Sea.’ Potentially causing a domino effect within other countries in the region like Brunei, The Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Currently, the uproar is completely speculative as there has been no further information except the delayed release date – but if previous patterns are indicators, we could be looking at a Barbie-less summer in the Middle East.
