Alia Bhatt Is A Radiant Mother-To-Be In New Baby Shower Pictures
The 29-year-old actress celebrated the imminent arrival of her first child in true cultural style
The Internet’s favourite Bollywood celebrity couple and soon-to-be new parents Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor recently hosted an intimate baby shower for their first child.
Alia took to her Instagram page to share photos from the special day, posting a carousel of sweet snapshots with her husband, parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, sisters Shaheen Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt and other close family members. Also in attendance were the famous extended Kapoor clan, Ranbir’s side of the family, including his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, mother Neetu Singh and cousin Karisma Kapoor, to name a few. Alia’s group of girlfriends was present as well.
“just … love ???????,” she captioned the post.
Many close friends and fellow members of the film fraternity sent well-wishes and messages of love to the pair, posting comments filled with prayers and blessings. “❤️❤️,” wrote director Zoya Akhtar. “Pretty pretty ❤️❤️,” added actress Bipasha Basu.
Alia and Ranbir held a traditional, Indian-style baby shower ceremony and wore gorgeous ethnic outfits to complement the occasion. The actress donned a bright yellow outfit, accessorising with traditional ethnic jewellery made in pearls and precious stones in shades of emerald green and white. Ranbir wore a light, pastel pink kurta with extensive white embroidery work on the front and the sleeves.
The Bollywood stars have become one of the most followed and cherished couples in the public sphere, more so since their dreamy, all-white wedding which took place in April of this year. The pair chose to marry in their home, surrounded only by their nearest and dearest loved ones. The stunning photos were revealed soon and instantly went viral on social media.
Alia announced her pregnancy in the months to follow and has been acing the maternity fashion game in press junkets, award shows and on red carpets and talk shows ever since. She also launched her own maternity wear label recently, taking inspiration from her own experience of building a maternity wear closet for herself.
