Britney Spears’ Husband Sam Asghari Files For Divorce

After 14 months as a married couple, Britney Spears’ husband Sam Asghari, has filed for divorce.
It had been rumoured that the celebrity couple had been struggling with navigating their relationship in the public eye for a while. Talks about the split emerged once the two had stopped posting with each other on social media. The newlyweds had also not been wearing their wedding bands in recent pictures, and Sam had reportedly moved out of the couple’s home a few weeks back, as reported by TMZ.
The couple first met back in 2016 while filming a music video for Britney Spears’ song “Slumber Party,” and after years of dating, they tied the knot at a private wedding ceremony with a guest list composed of some of the most iconic Hollywood stars.
According to the files of Sam’s petition to dissolve the marriage, the couple had been officially separated since July 28th. In the meantime, Sam has been lawyering up in preparation for the divorce, as reported by Variety.
Sam posted a response to the news on his Instagram stories stating, “After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.”
