Camila Cabello Makes Her Return To Acting

The Cuban-American star will make a foray into drama this time…

Riding the wave of her charming performance in Kay Cannon’s bold retelling of the fairy tale Cinderella is musician and actress Camila Cabello, who is set to make her return to the big screen.

This time, she joins hands with British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor who will be directing and writing the Robert Peace biopic, and actors Mary J. Blige and Jay Will, as reported by Deadline.

The ambitious project is an adaptation of Jeff Hobbs’ chart-topping biography The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace: A Brilliant Young Man Who Left Newark for the Ivy League and is currently under production.

The biographical drama will tell the story of the brilliant Rob Peace, who moved from Newark to follow his dreams and attend Yale University but had his life cut short tragically in a brutal event. According to the outlet, Camila will portray Rob’s classmate at Yale named Naya in the film.

Along with her acting credits rolling in slowly, Camila has had an excellent music career, including Latin Grammy and Billboard Music Award wins. The former Fifth Harmony vocalist also achieved smashing success in the charts with her record-breaking songs Señorita and Havana.

The pop singer released her latest album Familia in April 2022 which stood at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 charts and has also appeared on The Voice as a coach in the same year.
