Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, tragically passed away on Thursday.
The American singer-songwriter died after suffering a cardiac arrest, TMZ reports; her mother Priscilla confirmed the news in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine shortly after it was reported she had been taken to hospital.
Born to the King of Rock and Roll and his wife, Priscilla, Lisa Marie carved a name for herself in the entertainment world as not only a performer but also a philanthropist and doting mother.
In the hours after her death was announced many celebrities took to social media to mourn the loss, sharing their sadness and condolences with her family.

Actress Leah Remini, who was a friend of Lisa Marie, took to social media to share her prayers. “I’m heartbroken over the passing of Lisa Marie Presley,” she tweeted.
Pink, who collaborated with Lisa and considered her a friend, shared a heartfelt Instagram featuring an image of the two of them together. “The world lost a rare gem today,” she wrote in the caption.
“I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again,” said actor John Travolta in an emotional Instagram post.
Lisa’s ex-husband Nicolas Cage said “She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken” in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Another star who might be mourning Lisa Marie’s death privately is Elvis Austin Butler who is most recently known for playing the Rockstar in Baz Luhrmann’s latest musical drama.
Just two nights ago at the star-studded Golden Globe awards, Lisa Marie made her last public appearance and showed her appreciation for the film. “It’s incredible, there’s no words to describe it,” she said, in an interview with Access Hollywood. “I’m so proud of him and Baz,” she added, praising Austin’s performance and the depiction of her father in Elvis.

On the same night, Austin thanked Lisa Marie and Priscilla as he accepted his Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for Elvis. “Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me”, said the young actor.
