Hollywood, get ready for Cynthia Khalifeh!
The 32-year-old Lebanese actress, who has been in the industry since she was 11 years old, has been cast to star in a new horror-thriller opposite Laura Marano from Netflix’s The Royal Treatment and Lucien Laviscount from Netflix’s Emily in Paris in the lead role.
Borderline’s plot revolves around a young woman named Zena (played by Cynthia), who matches with a handsome young man named Jack on a dating app. The pair are set to meet for the first time at a pub – but he never shows up. Instead Zena starts to talk with a man named Paul (played by Lucien), a charming local, with sinister intentions.
The movie will be directed by BAFTA-nominated Jane Gull and written by Elizabeth Morris. Cynthia is also one of the producers of this project alongside Martin Owen and actor Evan Ross, and even joined the writing team to contribute her creative juices to the script
Though few details have been released about the thriller, it appears filming (which took place in the UK and in Malta) has wrapped and fans will need to wait a little longer for all the details regarding the premiere date.
Cynthia is also set to star in another international film after her Hollywood break with Ben Kingsley and Aaron Eckhart in a movie titled Deporter.
