Drew Barrymore Is Cardi B’s Newest Celebrity Friend On Twitter

Step aside, Penn Badgley.

Twitter seems to be where all of Cardi B’s celebrity friendship dreams come true. First, it was Penn Badgley—his face is still going strong on the rapper’s official Twitter thumbnail—and now, enter Drew Barrymore. The actress answered Cardi B’s call for help in transitioning to meat-free alternatives, fangirling over her adorably in the process.

Two weekends ago, the Grammy Award–winning rapper announced on Twitter that she’s planning to go vegan and called to her millions of Twitter followers for recommendations on meat alternatives. “I want to go vegan but I love meat,” the rapper tweeted. “Are vegan meat replacements similar to meat in taste or not really?” Days later, Barrymore enthusiastically heeded the call. “YES @iamcardib I HAVE THE ANSWER TO YOUR MEAT FREE DREAMS,” Barrymore tweeted.

Alongside the tweet, the actress included a video in which she told Cardi that she is “flexitarian”—or “predominantly vegetarian”—and one of her “biggest fans ever.” She offered to send the rapper meat-free options from Quorn, a health food brand for which Barrymore serves as Chief Mom Officer (CMO), per the company’s website. “I didn’t dream that I would be reaching out to you until I saw the article about you saying that you don’t want to eat meat,” she said in the video.

Cardi seemed just as thrilled to have received a response from the actress. Matching Barrymore’s energy, the rapper wrote back, “Ommmmmmmmggggggggg ….naaaa imagine getting food advice from Drew Barrymore I love meat so much and I LOVE CRAB LEGS but I haven’t been digesting food the same no more specially red meat.”

She added, “I want to start something healthier [and] yet tasty cause I love flavor!!”

Cardi’s decision to go vegan comes after dealing with health issues earlier this year. “I had a stomach virus not so long ago and I feel like my digestive system haven’t been the same,” she wrote on Twitter. “I been drinking probiotics and I don’t see a change much. I be lookin at raw food pages a lot but that will be a huge change for me to do that.”

Now, thanks to Drew, Cardi is well on her way to realising her vegan dreams. Here’s hoping we all have this much luck with our own New Year’s resolutions.
