Emma Roberts Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

The happy couple became parents to their first son last December 27 in Los Angeles – and we must admit, we’re totally in love with the little one’s name…

Congratulations are in order to Emma Roberts and her partner, actor Garrett Hedlund!

The American actress and singer gave birth to a healthy baby boy last Sunday, December 27 in Los Angeles, as E! confirmed. According to TMZ, both baby and Emma are doing well.

Although any official statements have yet to be made, according to TMZ’s sources, the newborn ‘weighes around nine pounds at birth’ and has been named after one of Greece’s dreamy islands: Rhodes. We have to admit it, we love how original his name is!

The Scream Queens actress announced she was expecting her first child last August with an Instagram post where she revealed the baby’s gender

Emma is well known for keeping her private life low-key on social media. Indeed, she didn’t want to reveal the good news earlier this year; her mother let it slipped on her social media, and accidentally spilled the beans of her pregnancy; the actress and niece of Julia Roberts later explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she had to block her mother for a few months, so she could wait until the right time to unveil the news herself.

As Roberts revealed in an exclusive interview with Cosmopolitan US last month she always dreamed of becoming a mother some day.

“Ever since I was little, I wanted to have a baby, in theory. When I was a kid, I begged my mom to have another baby. The day she brought my sister home from the hospital, I remember holding her, wanting to dress and play with her.” Roberts explained.

The award-winning actress discovered her endometriosis and fertility issues in her late ‘20s, but fespite the challenges she’s had to come through, she’s now a mother to a healthy baby boy.
