Frank Ocean At Coachella: Why Are Fans So Upset By His Performance? Bazaar Arabia shares all the details here…

A delayed performance, lip-synching songs and a scrapped live stream are just a few things that happened during Frank Ocean’s Coachella performance and to top it off, according to sources obtained by Rolling Stone, the singer could potentially have an injured ankle which is why he sat down for most of his show.

Fans of the 35-year-old singer-songwriter are furious and, to be honest, they can’t be blamed. Not only has Frank’s devoted fan base been waiting three years for his headline at Coachella since it was postponed during Coachella 2020, but they have also been waiting a hefty seven years for a new Frank Ocean album.

It didn’t take fans long to share their opinion on the performance, with some saying, “Started the set late, didn’t let them live stream it, now ending the set early… frank ocean you will rue the day,” So, what actually happened?

He was late to his performance

The performance which was initially set to begin at 10:05 pm P.T. wouldn’t officially begin until 11:00 pm. During that time, fans began to grow furious especially when a video of hooded people dressed in black was played for five minutes and when Frank did eventually come on he didn’t address the delayed performance.

He cut his performance short

Despite the fact the White Ferarri singer was late to his performance, Frank had no plans of staying any longer to make up for it. At 12:22 pm the singer-songwriter said, “Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of our show. Thank you so much,”

He wasn’t visible

According to Entertainment, the singer-songwriter was hardly visible and sat as far back to the stage as possible whilst keeping his hood over his head – turning to face his back towards his audience.

He lip-synced most of his songs

According to reports, the 35-year-old only sang a select few of his songs such as Self Control, Bad Religion and the beginning of Nikes. Frank then chose to lip-sync the rest of his songs.

He scrapped his live stream

Fans of Frank were devastated after tuning into YouTube’s Coachella live stream more than excited to watch the performance only to find that only hours before the singer-songwriter was due to perform YouTube announced the live performance would not be shown.
