Hailey Bieber’s stroke: here’s what happened, according to the model herself…
Hailey Bieber is clearly on the road to recovery – and ready to share the story about her stroke with fans.
Back in March, the twenty-five-year-old model experienced a very scary incident while at breakfast with her husband, award-winning singer Justin Bieber. Later, it was revealed to the public she had been rushed to hospital – and while it was clarified shortly after that she was stable and recovering at home, fans were left wondering just exactly what happened.
Yesterday, the twenty-five-year-old model explained exactly what happened, along with the potential causes of the stroke and why she recently underwent another procedure.
Talking about the morning of March 10, Hailey breaks down the incident from the beginning to the end.
“All of the sudden I felt this really weird sensation that travelled down my arm, down my shoulder, all the way down to my fingertips and it made my fingertips feel really numbs and weird,” the model tells her subscribers in the video. “I was sitting there… trying to figure out what the sensation was and what it was coming from.”
“Justin was like ‘Are You Okay?’ and I just didn’t respond because I wasn’t sure. And then he asked me again and… when I went to respond I couldn’t speak, the right side of my face started drooping, I couldn’t get a sentence out… obviously, immediately, I thought I was having a stroke. A full blown stroke,” she says.
Hailey revealed there were three possible causes as to why she suffered a Transient Ischemic Attack (which she notes is often referred to as a mini-stroke), along with why she underwent a procedure to fix a small hole in her heart.
“It definitely feels like having a stroke, except my body was able to resolve it pretty quickly and then I didn’t have any more issues for the whole rest of the day and the rest of the time I was in the hospital,” she says. “I felt really thankful and grateful for that, that it wasn’t worse and that I wasn’t going to have any permanent issues, but my scans did show that I had had a lack of oxygen to a certain part of my brain for a certain amount of time.”
The model also revealed she is taking medication daily and is confirms she’s been taking it easy throughout the past few weeks.
