How Much Did Kim Kardashian Pay For Princess Diana’s Cross?

The Kardashians’ personality was in competition with four other bidders for the cross-shaped pendant…

The cross-shaped pendant containing amethysts and diamonds has been auctioned off at Sotheby’s Royal And Noble sale which, was held from January 6 to January 18.

According to Kristian Spofforth, Head of Jewellery at Sotheby’s London, pieces owned and worn by the late Princess Diana rarely come on to the market, making this auction even more special.

The 5,25-carat pendant is also known as the Attalah cross, as it belonged to the late Naim Attalah, a Palestinian-British businessman and former group chief executive of Asprey & Garrard.

“Princess Diana and my father were friends and I remember that she often came to see him at the historic Garrard store on Regent Street, where his office was, and she
would ask to borrow the pendant on several occasions – she really loved the piece,”
says Ramsay Attallah, Naim Attalah’s son and previous owner of the cross.

Princess Diana who is known for becoming bolder in regard to her fashion choices in the 1980s, moving away from her previous tame style has been seen wearing the cross on multiple occasions. One of the most well-known ones has been in October 1987 in honour of a charity gala in support of Birthright — Now known as the Wellbeing of Women charity, an organisation which supports funding and research across women’s reproductive and gynaecological health).

Princess Diana paired the astonishing pendant with a Catherine Walker dress and pearl drop earrings.

Kim Kardashian, who knowingly started to develop an interest in historical artifacts, starting with wearing the famous crystal bedazzled Marylin Monroe gown to the Met Gala in 2022, has now bid on the famous pendant and won. According to Gulf News, the American reality tv star bought the Attalah cross for approximately $197,453 which equals to around 725,247Dhs.
