Inside Athiya Shetty And KL Rahul’s Wedding
The couple is set to get hitched in Suniel Shetty’s Khandala spacious farm house…
Athiya Shetty, daughter of veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, started dating Indian cricket team vice-captain KL Rahul in 2019.
Although neither of them publicly confirmed their relationship status, they have attended events together, been on vacation with each other’s families, and are often spotted expressing their adoration for one other on Instagram.
Suniel Shetty has gotten close to his future son-in-law over the years as he is often seen attending cricket matches with Athiya, cheering on Rahul.
Just having returned from a recent New Year’s trip to Dubai, as reported by Hindustan Times, the power couple is ready to take things further as they will tie the knot in a hush-hush ceremony among family and close friends.
The wedding is reportedly going to take place in Suniel’s extravagant mansion in Khandala.
Featured in an episode of the YouTube show Where the Heart Is by Asian Paints, where public figures give audiences a virtual tour of their homes, Suniel’s sun-filled family retreat appears to be perfect for the secret wedding. The property features a canopy of trees, beautiful cliff-side gardens, a stunning water canal, and picturesque views all around.
It is said to take place at 4 pm IST (5.30 pm GST) on Monday, January 23 at the lavish mansion, according to The Times of India. Attendees include close family and friends from both sides as the couple is rumoured to be decked in stunning white and gold Sabyasachi outfits, as per Bollywood tradition.
Athiya and Rahul will exchange vows in a traditional Hindu ceremony, followed by a celebratory wedding reception for Bollywood and cricket’s most popular celebrities, according to Siasat.
Parts of the star-studded event are rumoured to take place in KL Rahul’s Bandra residence as paparazzi capture wedding decorations outside the cricketer’s apartment.
However, as explained in the video’s caption, the decorations are said to be preparations for a different event.
The grand affair is set to begin on January 21 and will include a ladies’ night event, a Sangeet evening, and the wedding ceremony on January 23, according to Hindustan Times.
While Athiya was recently cast as Kashmiri footballer, Afshan Ashiq, in an upcoming biopic Rahul has requested to take personal time off while the Indian cricket team faces New Zealand in a three-match ODI series, according to Sportskeeda.
