When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (now Affleck) were rumoured to have rekindled their relationship in April last year, almost 20 years after their first romance, the internet found itself in a frenzy. It truly solidified the revival of Y2K and proved that sometimes it really is the right person, wrong time. Cut to, a year later J.Lo announced her engagement (the second for Bennifer – another reason to believe in second chances at love) with a stunning 8.5-carat natural green – her lucky colour – diamond ring.
According to People, the power couple made it official and got a marriage license in Nevada over the weekend before celebrating with an intimate ceremony at Las Vegas’ Little White Chapel on Saturday. The actress-singer revealed in her On the JLo newsletter that she had two dresses ready for her special day.
The first was a classic boatneck gown with sentimental value, and the second was a stunning off-the-shoulder, lace Zuhair Murad white dress with a sweetheart neckline, corset, and long sleeves. The bride styled it with a matching lace-trimmed veil. Ben opted for a classic white tuxedo jacket for their wedding day.
Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton shared an several videos and images of the new bride before her big moment that caused quite the buzz online.
Jennifer also shared that this was the day the two had “dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.” It’s a fairy-tale romance and a second chance at love for the newlyweds.
While this is all we know at the moment, we couldn’t be happier for the couple.
