Shocking news has broken that Kanye West and his Christian K-12 school – Donda Academy – is being sued by two women, alleging they were fired from their teaching positions for raising concern over the academy’s education, health and safety code violations, as well as for their race.

According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the women who were employed by Donda Academy full-time earlier this year stated they were the only Black women working at the academy, adding it didn’t take them very long to notice the countless health and safety violations as well as unlawful educational practices and extremely unusual rules.

The American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer founded the unaccredited Christian private school in 2022, naming the academy after his late mother, Donda West. Parents were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to keep the school’s location secret however, we now know Donda Academy is located in Simi Valley, California. The Academy charges $15,000 per student and requires pupils to wear strictly black uniforms designed by Kanye himself.

According to TMZ, the two women state the only lunch option available for Donda Academy students was sushi and students were prohibited to bring any outside food or drink with water being an exception. The lawsuit states Kanye spends $10,000 per week on sushi.

Additionally, the women claim Kanye did not allow students to use crossword puzzles or colouring sheets and classes were not to take place on the second floor due to Kanye’s fear of stairs; Kanye also did not want students to use forks or utensils.

In regards to the strict dress code, Donda Academy students were not allowed to wear jewellery as Kanye “did not like jewellery,” and were required to wear a uniform of head-to-toe black attire with Nike and Adidas brands forbidden.

The teachers claim in the lawsuit that Kanye did not allow chairs, which forced children to sit on foam cushions or sand whilst teachers were to either stand or use a stool and add that school doors were locked from the outside during school hours, and pupils were not allowed to step out of Donda Academy until school was over.
