Despite putting in the hard work, working out every day, eating right and giving up alcohol, Kyle Richards Umansky is still defending her recent weight loss.
On Thursday the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Dubai star cleared up rumours — yet again — that she had sought out, ahem, medical help in order to attain her svelt figure.
Is Kyle Richards Taking Ozempic?
Kyle took to the Instagram comments on a Page Six post to reiterate that no, she is not using Opzempic to lose weight.
After her fellow Housewife, Dorit Kemsley shared a (now deleted) Instagram photo of the cast members together in Spain, Kyle took to the comment section on the photo and video-sharing platform to clear the air.
“The picture they’re referring to I was sucking because of the type of dress I had on,” she writes in the comments section. “Which I see now was not a good look. I am actually a healthy weight. I eat very well & workout every day. Anyone who knows me can attest to that.”
In the photo, it’s fairly obvious that Kyle is sucking in. The angle the photo was taken, coupled with the style of the dress, highlights her rib cage.
What is Ozempic?
Ozempic is a prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. The active ingredient in the drug is semaglutide, which belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. Ozempic is a once-weekly injection that works by mimicking the effects of a naturally occurring hormone in the body called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). GLP-1 helps to regulate blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion, reducing glucagon secretion, and slowing the rate at which the stomach empties.
Ozempic is typically used in combination with diet and exercise to help lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes who have not achieved adequate control with other diabetes medications. It is important to note that Ozempic is not intended to be used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

According to Dubai-based Dr. Ruhil Badiani, a family medicine physician at Cornerstone Clinic, Ozempic is available in Dubai on prescription. However, there is an issue with supply and many pharmacies do not have stock of it.
