Elvis’ only child, who followed her in her father’s footsteps and pursued a career in the music industry, was found unresponsive in her Calabasas, California home on Thursday evening.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time,” she wrote.
She confirmed the death hours later. “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she told PEOPLE Magazine.
“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
TMZ reports that a source with direct knowledge claims the American performer’s housekeeper found her unresponsive; her ex-husband, Danny Keough, had been dropping their children off at the same time she was found and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived.
