Basketball enthusiasts were ecstatic last night to see the first of two NBA tournaments that kicked off at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad stadium. The Dallas Mavericks played against the Minnesota Timberwolves for a preseason game in preparation for the new NBA season launching on October 24.

Famous American actor Michael B. Jordan surprised fans by making a grand appearance at NBA Abu Dhabi. During the match, the mascot of Minnesota Timberwolves, Crunch the werewolf, handed a jersey to the award-winning actor.
Ranveer Singh
Ranveer Singh, Bollywood superstar and Experience Abu Dhabi brand ambassador, had a front seat view of the nail-biting match. After the event, the actor met up with Karl-Anthony Towns, number 32 of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and danced to Bollywood music.
Ronaldo Luís Nazário
Former professional footballer, Ronaldo Luís Nazário was seen at the tournament and received a number 5 jersey from the Timberwolves. Earlier, the Brazilian footballer was seen touring the capital city and exploring Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Steve Harvey
TV host and film producer Steve Harvey made an appearance at the game and shared a friendly hug with Micheal B Jordan, causing a media frenzy following the break-up of Micheal and Steve’s daughter Lori. The American TV personality has a lot of events lines up, with golf sessions planned next in Abu Dhabi.

Award-winning rapper T-Pain was seen interacting with young fans at the game. The American musician will headline at the NBA Fan Appreciation Day on October 6.

Lebanese superstar Maya Diab was seen arriving at the Etihad Stadium sporting patchy jeans and a black corset. The singer was last seen at luxury jewellery brand Messika’s showcase at Paris Fashion Week.

Chinese model Ming Xi was spotted in the crowd with her husband Mario Ho. The duo expressed their love for the UAE’s capital, buzzed by seeing many international A-listers.
