India made history at the 95th Academy Awards when popular song Naatu Naatu took home the title of Best Original Song, making it the first Indian song to earn a nomination and win in this category.

Starring Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan and directed by S. S. Rajamouli, the song is part of the film RRR, released back in 2021. The movie is about an officer part of the British force who decided to fight for freedom against the ruling party.

Fans and viewers of RRR have been in love with the soundtrack ever since its release, including Bollywood A-listers Alia Bhatt, who was part of the film, and Deepika Padukone, who presented the award at the Oscars 2023.
