Known as one of the bestselling boy bands of all time, One Direction made music until 2016 when its members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson decided to break up. Zayn Malik departed the group in 2015 because of the lack of creative freedom he had while performing in the group.
Since then, each member of the four-time touring band went on to release music, some of which topped the charts like Zayn’s Pillowtalk and Harry’s As It Was. However, it seems like Liam isn’t satisfied with the trajectory of his solo career, possibly leading to a One Direction reunion in the future.
So… Will There Be A One Direction Reunion?
According to Ok! Magazine, the former The X Factor contestant is “desperate” to patch things up with his former bandmates and get them together again.
The source that spoke to the entertainment magazine revealed that the main reason for this is that Liam’s solo career hasn’t reached the same level of success as the other One Direction members. The English singer allegedly wants to emulate the level of stardom Harry has reached since the band broke up.
According to Rolling Stone, The soloist appeared on YouTuber Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive last year where he claimed that his 2017 single Strip That Down “outsold” everybody else’s solo careers and continued to take shots at his ex-bandmates, which the internet did not take kindly to.
However, it looks like Liam is now attempting to make amends as the source expressed how regretful he is for his careless remarks, leading to an alleged reunion with Louis, who he has been seen spending time with lately.
The R&B singer fondly recollected his time in the band in a since-deleted Instagram post. “I wouldn’t be here without the boys,” he said.
According to the outlet, Louis revealed that he would be “up for” a reunion tour in the future while appearing on the ITV talk show Lorraine. Harry thrilled fans when he posted a short-lived photo of himself wearing a 1D shirt to his Instagram stories.
Irish singer Niall spoke about how the band might have something exciting in store and that he would love to take part in a show like The X Factor again, as reported by Rolling Stone.
The last member and the first one to leave, Zayn, is the only one who allegedly needs convincing. However, fans are eagerly awaiting a 1D reunion as an Instagram video he posted last year singing to Night Changes hinted that he could be over it.
